Tips for RVs in national parks
- Book early. Popular campgrounds open on Recreation.gov months ahead and fill fast for summer.
- Expect dry camping. Only 18 parks list any campground with electric hookups. Arrive with full fresh water and empty tanks.
- Check road limits too. Some scenic roads have their own vehicle length limits, separate from campground limits. Ask the park before towing.
- Generators usually have set quiet hours. Follow the campground rules.
- Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
